OTTUMWA – Mariannette Miller-Meeks, a Republican candidate for Congress, released the following statement regarding the killing of Qassem Soleimani:
“Qassem Soleimani has the blood of hundreds of Americans on his hands and thanks to leadership of our Commander in Chief and our brave military service members, justice has been served. Attacks on our service members, diplomats and facilitates should not be tolerated and I support the President’s actions to make Americans safer and more secure.”
The Pentagon confirmed Thursday that Soleimani, who leads Iran’s elite Quds force, was killed in what it termed a “defensive action.” Iraqi and other media said Soleimani died in an airstrike at Baghdad’s international airport.
