MILLER-MEEKS’ CONGRESSIONAL BIDS RECEIVES ENDORSEMENTS
FROM CONSERVATIVE STALWARTS ROZENBOOM, BRINK
OTTUMWA – State Sen. Ken Rozenboom and state Rep. Holly Brink, both of Oskaloosa, announced their endorsement of state Sen. Mariannette Miller-Meeks for Congress in the 2nd District today.
“It’s humbling to receive the support and endorsements from people of this caliber,” Miller-Meeks said. “Representative Brink has been a fighter for rural Iowans and Senator Rozenboom has been a champion for life. To have their support shows the conservative coalition our campaign is building. I’ll take their ‘never quit’ attitude to Congress and I will never quit fighting for, caring about and listening to the people of southern Iowa.”
Rozenboom said Miller-Meeks demonstrated her pro-life commitment during the 2019 legislative session by sponsoring a joint resolution proposing an amendment to the Iowa Constitution so it explicitly states it does not grant the right to an abortion and would not require public funding for abortions.
“I have fought tirelessly in the legislature to protect the unborn because it reflects one of my deepest core values,” said Rozenboom, a two-term lawmaker. “To me, this issue is personal. I want someone in Congress who will never waver on this issue and that is why I am proud to support Mariannette for Congress. She’ll never quit fighting for all Iowans – born and unborn.”
Brink was elected to office along with Miller-Meeks in 2018 and both have fought for lower taxes, health care reform and water quality with the needs of southern Iowa in mind.
“Mariannette and I have a similar ‘never quit’ attitude when it comes to southern Iowa,” said Brink. “In Congress, I know she’ll take rural Iowa’s voice to Washington and make sure we have a seat at the table and that we are heard. I’m proud to support and endorse Mariannette for Congress.”
